Athena Serrano

With her various abilities, Athena is able channel her creativity and ideas on canvas, print and photographs. But she mainly bases her works on the Internet.

Her artistic passion began in her childhood when she drew penguins and fan art of the former MMOG Club Penguin and participating its online community. Known as "Cw700," Athena's longtime presence in the community has eventually lead to opening commissions for still-active members, even garnering the attention of the founder of the virtual world and Rocketsnail Games, Lance Priebe.

But aside from illustration, Athena is a storyteller. Her younger self would write fan fiction based on her favorite movies, TV shows, and anime. And with her passionate interest for history, she also would write historical fiction. Athena still publishes fan fiction online, with one of her most recent and ongoing writings being called Pagkawala (Loss), a Hetalia: Axis Powers fan fiction based on the history of the Philippines and a personified character of the nation. A short version of the fan fiction has been published in Saint Peter's University's literary magazine The Pavan, but the in-progress full version is also available to read for free on Archive of Our Own.

Due to her interests in journalism, news, culture, social issues, and politics, she has used her writing skills to become a Staff Writer for Saint Peter's University's student newspaper The Pauw Wow and publish articles biweekly.

As a photographer, she enjoys capturing the essence, beauty, nature, and landscape of life and humanity. She tends to photograph images of her local hometown Jersey City and the New York Metropolitan Area.

Outside of her main pursuits, Athena enjoys reading books, listening to Korean pop music and podcasts, watching YouTube videos, documentaries and period dramas, using social media and socializing with online and offline friends.
