My name is Kimberly Jaramillo and I was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ. I have loved drawing since I was little. Art has always had a significant part in my life and has gotten me through my toughest moments and has documented my happiest. What started out as a hobby has turned into a career path and became an essential part of my life. My love for art has only grown with time and I want to share my experiences and knowledge with those who wish to follow their heart into the art world. I am in no way perfect, but it is through my mistakes and failures that I have been able to learn and grow.

My parents mean everything to me and are the only family I have in the United States. They have always been open with me and have told me everything they have experienced in life in hopes that I learn and never take anything for granted. Both my parents are from Ecuador, so growing up as a Latina and a first-generation American has been a tough road. However, nothing can compare to the lives they lived when first coming to the United States. Their wisdom has taught me to appreciate the little things in life and to make every day count (this explains why people have always told me that I am mature for my age). It is thanks to them that I am the person I am today.

Not only do I wish to inspire future artists, but also inspire people to make a career out of something they love and brings them joy. Money may be important, but I would rather do something I love forever than spend the rest of my life miserable in a job I do not like. You can learn to appreciate art even if you are not an artist. Art is in every corner and plays a significant role in everyone's lives.
